A box prototype at Pergament is made in 30 minutes. You arrive with a task — our engineer designs the dieline in a CAD system, the plotter cuts the sample, and the future packaging is in your hands before the print run even starts. It is the fastest way to test a packaging construction in Moldova.
How it works
1. Describe the task. Product, dimensions, quantity, construction preferences — by phone, email or in person. If possible, bring a sample of your product: the box is designed around it.
2. The engineer designs the dieline in CAD. Precise geometry is built in at the design stage, so the box assembles correctly the first time. You can start from our library of 3000+ ready-made cutting dies — saving on the die — or develop a fully custom construction.
3. The plotter cuts the sample. In 30 minutes you hold the prototype: assemble it, place your product inside, evaluate the dimensions and usability.
4. If needed — a colour test mini-run. Our press-class digital department prints samples with your design that are as close as possible to the production run: show them to management, photograph them for a presentation or test the packaging on the shelf.
How much sample development costs
Developing a sample of a simple construction — €100; a complex one (non-standard geometry, multi-part boxes, inserts) — €200. Payment in MDL at the NBM exchange rate.
The key point: if you place a production order within 60 days, the development cost is credited towards the order. For clients who go into production, the prototype is effectively free.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to come in person? No: describe the task by phone or email and we will deliver the finished sample in a convenient way. A visit is more effective though — the engineer clarifies details on the spot and you see the production floor with your own eyes.
Will the prototype be printed? A plotter sample is the construction without printing. If you need a sample with your design, we print a colour test mini-run in the digital department — its quality is as close as possible to the production item.
What if the construction does not fit? We adjust the dieline and cut a new sample. Fast iterations are exactly what the prototype exists for: changing the construction at the sample stage is easy and inexpensive.
Do I have to order a print run afterwards? No. Sample development is a stand-alone service. And if a run is ordered within 60 days, its cost is credited towards the order.
