Slider box 220×150×30 mm with an insert for festive desserts

Pergament printing house (Chișinău) produced a 220×150×30 mm gift slider box for a seasonal line of confectionery — desserts on a stick. The packaging consists of three parts: an outer sleeve, a sliding tray and an insert with four shaped seats. The insert holds each dessert separately: the products do not shift or touch each other in transit, and when the box is opened the product is presented neatly, as in a shop display. The low tray is assembled on structural locks and is precisely sized to the dessert format.

The slider box is made of GC2 cellulose board with a density of 275 g/m². Printing is offset in 4+0: full-colour photorealistic images of the desserts are placed on the light background of the packaging.

The combination of finishes plays the key role in the design: the surface is covered with one-sided matte lamination, while spot gloss UV varnish is applied to the images of the desserts. The glossy accents make the product stand out against the velvety matte background — a contrast perceived both visually and by touch that moves the packaging into the gift category.

The construction was developed individually for this project: a new cutting die was designed and manufactured. At the same time, customers have access to a library of more than 3,000 ready-made cutting dies: choosing an existing construction reduces the cost and lead time of cardboard packaging compared with developing an individual die.
